AT&T recently increased this “Administrative Fee” to $1.99/month per line. Customers report that AT&T fails to adequately disclose this fee and increases it without notification.
AT&T states in the fine print of its bills that this fee is used to cover interconnection costs and cell site maintenance. However, these costs have been decreasing every year, so this explanation appears to be a lie.
