Google Play Magazine Subscription Auto-Renewal Class Action Lawsuit

We are currently investigating complaints that Google is charging consumers for unwanted renewals of magazine subscriptions purchased through the Google Play Newsstand store. The Google Play store is the default app store on Android phones and Android tablets.

Google fails to make clear to consumers that its one-year online magazine subscriptions will be automatically renewed and charged to the customer’s credit card. Additionally, Google fails to notify customers prior to their being auto-renewed, such that customers are unable to cancel or turn off auto-renewal before being charged.

If you are a California resident who has had your one-year subscription to a magazine purchased from the Google Play store automatically renewed, we would like to learn of your experience.
