Our Firm

Hattis & Lukacs is a class action law firm dedicated to protect consumers from the deceptive business practices of large corporations.

Class action lawsuits are powerful tools to enable consumers to protect and enforce their rights, to make rogue corporations return illegally gotten gains, and to help ensure that such corporations will be held responsible for their illegal actions.

Practice Areas

Daniel M. Hattis is the founder and lead attorney of the firm.  He personally supervises all matters brought into the firm.

Mr. Hattis is an experienced litigator who has significant experience representing consumers in individual litigation and in class actions against large corporations. Mr. Hattis has obtained over $46 million in court-approved settlements on behalf of consumers.

Mr. Hattis was class counsel in the precedent-setting false discount advertising case Brazil v. Dell, Inc., which was the first such case to be certified as a class action in a U.S. court. Mr. Hattis reached a settlement with Dell in 2011 in that case.

Mr. Hattis is currently co-counsel with the Los Angeles City Attorney in consumer fraud civil enforcement actions against four of the nation’s largest national retailers – J.C. Penney, Kohl’s, Macy’s, and Sears – for alleged false discounting practices.

Mr. Hattis is also currently lead attorney in a lawsuit against Comcast alleging a massive illegal bait-and-switch scheme upon its 22.5 million television subscribers of advertising and promising one price but then charging a much higher price in the form of deceptive and bogus charges which Comcast calls the “Broadcast TV Fee” and the “Regional Sports Fee.”
